04 Apl 2018 – Focal Meet the Author: Annie Murray

We are planning another of our successful and interesting Meet the Author events at Church House from 4:30 pm on Wednesday 4 April.  The author is Annie Murray, also writing under the name of Abi Oliver.

Annie Murray

Annie Murray was born in Berkshire and read English at St John’s College, Oxford. Her first Birmingham novel, Birmingham Rose, hit The Times bestseller list when it was published in 1995. She has subsequently written many other successful novels, including A Hopscotch Summer, Soldier Girl and the bestselling Chocolate Girls. Annie has four children and lives near Reading.

Her last three published books have been the trilogy, War Babies, Now the War is Over and The Doorstep Child, all about Birmingham families and all top ten paperback bestsellers.

This year, her new novel, Sisters of Gold, will be out in February 2018 in hardback, April in paperback and is set in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter in its Edwardian heyday.

Annie has also recently published a ‘debut’ novel as Abi Oliver – A New Map of Love. It is a quirky, tender love story, set on the Berks/Oxon borders, during the hot summer of 1964.

Annie will speak about the joys and sorrows of writing and will also talk about her latest book.
